In the vampire community, there are many terms that have developed or merged from familiar occultic terminology. Some of the terms presented here on Aquilus are specific to a particular order, while others are in general usage throughout the vampire community. | Chakras Author: Larae | In the Hindu mystical tradition, the seven main energy centers that are believed to run down the center of the body from the crown of the head to the base of the spine. A central axis of energy, parallel to the spine, connects all of the chakras. These *wheels of light* are believed to process energy, and each is connected to various functions of the body, spirit, and mind. |
| Chi Author: Larae | The Chinese term for vital energy. Connected to earth and the breath, chi is believed to be integral to the healthy functioning of the body, and the proper harnessing of chi is thought to greatly extend life. Many martial arts teach how to build and focus chi for increased strength and endurance. Chi is also often referred to as pranic energy or life force. Chi is bioelectric energy, which runs through our bodies on a subtle level. Energy/Pranic Vampires can manipulate this energy and draw upon it to sustain their own inadequate levels. |
| Coming Out of the Coffin Author: Larae | Coming out of the Coffin refers to being open with others about being vampiric, feeding upon energy, etc. |
| Communion Author: Larae | Interchangeable with feeding, or energy exchange. There are many forms of communion including unconscious, ambient, sympathetic, astral, tactile, visual, temporal and sanguine. There are also different levels of feeding including deep and surface. |
