In the vampire community, there are many terms that have developed or merged from familiar occultic terminology. Some of the terms presented here on Aquilus are specific to a particular order, while others are in general usage throughout the vampire community. Please acknowledge that these terms, although presented here, do not necessarily reflect those opinions/beliefs of Aquilus Dot Net or it's members. It is made available for informational purposes and should be viewed only as such. | Term | Definition |
| Elder Author: Larae | 1.) A member in the community who is highly regarded by many due to their established consistency of helping others, sharing experiences, and bringing balance into the community. True elders are those who have earned respect, not demanded it. 2.) White Wolf/Underworld/RPG term used to denote a older vampire of 100 years or more. Definition 2. is widely unacceptable in the real vampire community. |
| Emotional Vampire Author: Larae | Those that feed from strong feelings or emotional surges. Uneducated, these individuals often resort to histrionic or narcissistic behaviors, constantly drawing attention to themselves, which they feed on. Some feel that there is nothing metaphysical or spiritual in their condition, it is a simple psychological disorder that is irreversible. Others feel that these vamps resort to emotional draw simply because they know no other way to access needed energy. With understanding, tolerance and proper training, these emotional vamps can be assets to the community by learning how to balance hyperactive individuals and overly charged environments. |
| Energy Signature Author: Larae | The pattern of energy or energy fingerprint that is unique to each individual and is often left behind long after a person has gone. This can be sensed not only in the material/real world as a subtle body emanation, but also in the astral plane. |
| Energy Vampire Author: Larae | An individual who feeds upon the life force or pranic energy of others. Also referred to as a Pranic Vampires, and Psi-vamps. |
| Excommunicated Author: Larae | A term that some vampire groups like to use with individuals, who, by their own judgment, has committed some great crime in their eyes, such as disregard to the Black Veil. Excommunication is limited to that group and not that of the entire vampire community as a whole. No single group has that much authority or influence. |
