Title: What do you teach your children? Post by: undead_elf on March 10, 2008, 03:17:47 PM I was going around a few other sites and this particular topic caught my attention. For those of you here who have children, what do you teach or tell them about your chosen path? What do they think of it?

Title: Re: What do you teach your children? Post by: TwistedIllusion on March 10, 2008, 05:15:30 PM I let my children choose what path they wanna follow... I just don't want them to feel pressured into one set religion, not fair to any of them.
Title: Re: What do you teach your children? Post by: ResplendentSeraphim on March 10, 2008, 05:51:55 PM I do not have children yet, but I did have some thoughts on this matter for...oh 6-8 years down the road (lol!).
My boyfriend and I discussed the possibility at length, and we decided that we would be very careful about religion and religious items being in the open parts of the house. When the child is old enough to choose for themselves, then I will talk religion. While it would be ideal for me to raise a child in my own religion, I want them to -want- a religion, not to be forced to walk a religion. However, I may end up teaching values to them...but I think some of the good-doer values are shared by all good-doing religions and thus, it is hardly forcing religion on them. Sincerely, ResplendentSeraphim
