If it was left up to me, the people or person who did this would receive the same type of pain and agony that these ducks received! This just infuriates me! >:(


CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Cedar Rapids police said 52 ducks were killed at a park exhibit overnight.

Workers said the ducks were fine and locked in their cages when they left the Schucknecht Exhibit in Bever Park Children's Zoo around 6:30 p.m.

By 7 a.m. on Wednesday, workers returned to find all of the ducks dead.

The dead ducks were found floating in two ponds when an employee went to give them their scheduled feeding. Close to 40 ducks weren't hurt.

Police said the vandals broke locks on the bird cages and then chased the ducks into the pond and threw grapefruit-sized rocks at them.

Cedar Rapids police are asking for the public's help to track down the person or people responsible. Anyone with information is urged to call 319-286-5440 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The case remains under investigation.

What is their point? Why must you hurt innocent animals for no reason? -shakes head-

Punishment should fit the crime!

Personally, I think some people just feel so weak and powerless that they hurt animals in order to feel powerful.

What went through my head, was this happened in Cedar Rapids Iowa, that area got hit terribly with flooding. Areas of the city are probably still trying to get back on their feet and some areas I believe are still flooded. So, bored children didn't have anything better to do and decided to go kill some ducks. I'm definitely not making an excuse, if it was left up to me, I agree with Bobby. I also think the parents should be held accountable as well if it was kids.

The term Homo Sapiens means "wise human" or "knowing human."

This term has been used to describe humanity in its entirity, however I am increasingly of the opinion that Homo Sapiens is a distinct subspecies into which the human race as a whole is slowly evolving. Many have yet to catch up. Some never will.

This is the most calm way I know to express my ire towards those who think that plinking ducks for fun is a great way to kill time.

That's horrible! They must have been throwing those rocks pretty hard and had good aim for all those poor ducks to get killed. Sounds like someone put alot of time and effort into it.  :'( I hope they find out who did it!
