Title: The Rule of 3 Post by: Dade on September 03, 2007, 11:26:15 AM http://www.courierpress.com/news/2007/sep/01/signs-of-faith/
Signs of faith: The Number Three The number three has long had symbolic significance for various religious groups. According to Encyclopedia Judaica, the number is meaningful because "it conveys the idea of completeness, having a beginning, middle and end." The number is used numerous times throughout the Bible, including Jonah's three days inside the whale; a three-day plague of darkness against the Egyptians (Exodus 10:21-23); and Jesus' Resurrection on the third day after his crucifixion. Most (but not all) Christians also believe in the Trinity, or the concept that God the father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three persons existing within the single deity of God. Hindu scriptures speak of the three worlds of existence: bhuloka, the "Earth world"; antarloka, the "inner world"; and Sivaloka, or "world of Siva," the highest spiritual plane. Hinduism also includes the concept of the "third eye," which is thought of as the seat of psychic vision. Wiccans have the three-fold law. According to this law, anything good or bad done to another person will return to the doer three times stronger. Title: Re: The Rule of 3 Post by: TwistedIllusion on September 17, 2007, 09:23:05 PM Goes back to the way I was thinking. I am not wiccan but I do believe that whatever has been done to will come back to you three fold, good or bad. If you are willing to do bad be ready and don't complain. Same as with the good but I feel that it should not be flaunted or used, so to speak. I do hope that this makes sense, I am typing under the influence, LOL!
Title: Re: The Rule of 3 Post by: TwilightShade on September 18, 2007, 12:47:40 PM It made sense to me. lol
Title: Re: The Rule of 3 Post by: Melissa on September 24, 2007, 08:39:32 PM A few weeks ago, I was looking at a site about Gnosticism. And it talked about the "Rule of 3" It said one of the reasons that a lot of different beliefs or religions use the number 3 in their teachings is because the human mind has a tendency to remember things in threes. Which I found kinda interesting. Something I was never aware of or thought of. But when I thought about it, it made sense.

I would like to bring up that many people think that bad things happen in 3's also, and I had an experience with a 3. My father, grandfather, and aunt all died in the same year. Title: Re: The Rule of 3 Post by: Water Rose on January 11, 2008, 02:40:10 PM It's surprising when you look at exactly how many different things came upon the rule of three.
The only one that I know that doesn't acknowledge said rule is...well...you know, those Christ worshippers. :P :btw: I've heard that Islam even has the rule of three, but I've never been able to find evidence to back it up. It's not a rule.
I still learn of things that got twisted by christianity every day. Title: Re: The Rule of 3 Post by: BobbyT on January 11, 2008, 04:15:21 PM As do I.
