Title: Winchester House
Post by: TwistedIllusion on September 28, 2007, 08:12:41 PM
I have to admit that I have a special fascination with the Winchester House. Ever since watching Rose Red http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259153/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259153/) (loosely based), I have grown more and more fascinated with the house and did continuous research on it. So you tell me what cha think, was the house haunted and the ghost made her continue to use all of her wealth to build or was she out of her mind?

The Winchester house is fascinating. I think both scenarios are true. I think there is a good possibility the place has a spirit or 2. But she did all of the building because she was going loony.

That was my first impression that she was on the loony side. I don't know much about the house except it being like a maze and you have doors leading to nowhere..strange indeed!
Has any group investigated the house at all?

Uh one small group of misfits a friend of mine knows well and even admits to knowing in public. TAPS did an episode there and came up with nothing.

I saw that episode. I was truly hoping they would find some evidence. Of course I suppose just because they didn't that time doesn't mean that there is nothing there. Maybe they just weren't playing that night.

A house that big with only one, maybe two entities, it is entirely possible TAPS didn't encounter them. But they were there for more than one night. They usually film 3-4 days at a location.

Ironically enough, I JUST posted a response to a thread on this exact same topic on another site I'm a part of.  Strange, eh?  Anyways, I'd love to visit it simply because of its history and the fact that its a maze house.  As to whether I think its haunted or not, I'd have to go there to make a decision on that one.

Just wondering if any one did see the episode on Most Haunted, if so how was it?

My lovely cable company chose that time to decide to do away with the channel it was on.
Grrrr

Honestly, I thought it was a joke. I don't know where these people think they are scienitic. There was too many things that they claimed happened that could have been rigged or proven to be false. More or less, you didn't miss anything! lol

I saw it. It was very interesting. Haunted or not, I would love to see that house. Simply for its asthetic value. It has such a presence. BEAUTIFUL!!!
