Title: I Am Legend Post by: Melissa on November 29, 2007, 02:12:39 PM This is one film I'm definitely looking forward to seeing. I think Will Smith is just brilliant as an actor and it's a thriller which I always enjoy.
Synopsis: Robert Neville, a brilliant scientist, isn't quite brilliant enough to stop a man-made virus from escaping and killing everyone in sight. Somehow, though, Robert is immune. But what good is surviving if you're the last person on the planet? After three years of searching for others, Robert soon discovers that he is in fact not alone; mutant victims of the virus are watching his every move. As Robert realizes that his time may be up, he's determined to find a way to save the human race -- using his own virus-free blood. movies.yahoo.com I've seen the previews for it and may go see it with family on Christmas day. If you haven't heard about it, here's a link to Yahoo Movies (http://movies.yahoo.com/holiday-movies/I-Am-Legend/1809768369;_ylt=Aq5qpqBILvV01SiO_GFOQPBfVXcA), they have trailers and more info on the movie. Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: BobbyT on November 29, 2007, 04:07:04 PM I agree. This looks to be an awesome movie. If only it was direct to DVD. I'm not big on going to the movies anymore. Plus we have a huge home theater set up.
Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: alwaysnight on November 29, 2007, 05:43:04 PM I think this will be a good one. Will Smith always plays in movies that I have enjoyed so I look forward to seeing this one.

Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: Melissa on November 29, 2007, 11:04:41 PM Go see the movie first! Don't read the book first, chances are you will disappointed in the movie if you do!
Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: TwistedIllusion on November 29, 2007, 11:08:06 PM Will do, Melly. Thanks for the heads up...
Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: TwilightShade on November 30, 2007, 07:44:22 AM I've found that if I read the book first I am always disappointed in the movie version. For the most part it is impossible to get close enough to the book in movie form.
Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: BobbyT on November 30, 2007, 10:04:13 AM That is the norm. But I thought they did a god job with DaVinci Code.
Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: BlueFedish on December 03, 2007, 05:59:50 PM I can't wait to see the movie. Looks really good. :)

Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: London on December 15, 2007, 06:18:31 PM Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you know that I went and saw this at the theatre last night. I really enjoyed this movie, alot more than I thought that I would. Ladies and sensitive men, I'm warning you, this movie is kinda sad. :'( My boyfriend even said that it was really sad and he usually makes fun of me when I get all emotional during and after watching a movie. Anyways, I hope some get to see it and enjoy it, because I did. ;)
Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: TwistedIllusion on December 19, 2007, 01:59:18 PM Sounds like I may have to stay away from this one for a while. Thanks for the heads up.
Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: BlueFedish on January 01, 2008, 11:25:56 PM I just went and saw it, it was AWSOME!!!! A very powerful movie, I think. I didn't like the one part though about the dog. I'm a dog lover.

I'm a dog lover. I loved it too except the ending wasn't as great. I hated the part about the dog but I could understand why he had to do it. So it made it easier to deal with...I didn't cry for once! Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: Anathema on April 16, 2008, 06:31:16 PM *** BIG Spoilers in here so don't read if you haven't seen the movie!!!***
I know, I'm behind the times here but I finally saw this movie. I thought it was interesting how they took a 'vampire' movie but didn't focus on the vampires or virus zombies, whatever you want to call them. Instead they focused on the man. I also thought that it was a pretty good idea of what it might be like if you were the last man on earth. You'd make up routines for yourself, talk to innanimate objects. I was sad when the dog died but not necessarily for the dog's sake, no worries, I love animals but I don't think the dog dying was the point as much as that was Nevilles last link to anything alive, his family and something to love. My friends didn't like the ending but I did. I like it when it's not always a happy ending, because reality doesn't really work that way. Although that didn't make me sad either, he had accomplished what he said he would, with everyone he cared for gone, he was complete, it was ok for him to die. That's my take on it anyways, first go round. I always get a different feel for movies after I've watched them a few times and I've had time to study each aspect. Yes Yes, I know, I'm kind of a Movie Nerd/Geek that way, but as a writer - it's the story that interests me, I could care less about the CG and FX. Title: Re: I Am Legend Post by: Poppy on April 16, 2008, 07:07:05 PM I haven't seen it yet.
I know what you mean about the special affects. I find that they are way over relied on in most movies. To me the characters and plot are much more important.
