Within the realm of your vampyrism, or vampyrism in general, what was your most profound experience?

Hmm..I've been thinking on this one for awhile. I've always said that I'm not a vampire, but then I sit back and really think about it, I'm not so sure that I'm not a vampire and maybe having difficultly coming to terms with it. I know I am highly sensitive when it comes to energy and that I know when someone has attempted fed off of me, I'm not saying this makes me vampiric at all, I'm just saying I am sensitive to energy.

So to answer your question LB, My most profound experience happened one night on another website, which I will not advertise here, I was in discussion with another member of this website and he kept poking at me trying to get information out of me and as usual with anyone new I meet, I was very vague and not sharing a whole lot about myself and this person was kinda creeping me out, so I just stopped talking to him. Then the next thing I know, he stopped sending me messages and I could feel that he was feeding off of me, I actually felt his tendrils on me which made me quite mad. It was an experience I've never had before and it made me more and more angry the more he tried and I felt very violated. So I started shielding myself and visualizing that I was pushing him away and telling him to leave me alone. And shortly after, he quit, he was gone.

This may sound odd, but the "acceptance" of my vampiric condition. Awakening comes on its own, Awareness/Acknowledgment that something is different with oneself is easy, but  "Accepting" the new condition as part of yourself is much harder.

That doesn't sound odd at all. A lot of people have a hard time accepting that they are vampires. Do you think if there was another name for being energy deficient do you think it would make it easier for some to accept it? I'm just curious.

I've pondered this factor extensively and have mixed feelings. I do feel it would be more accepted if it was called something else. However, it bothers me that society can’t see past a word.

I understand completely what you are saying. Thanks to Hollywood and novels when someone hears the word Vampire they automatically think of the movies or a vampire in a book and have a hard time getting past that. I've often thought the same thing, maybe if it was called "Energy Deficiency" people would be more likely to say, "Oh, okay, I understand" However, it's been pointed out to me that if it was called something different, there may be a lot of people out there stumbling around, not understanding what they are doing and wondering if they have something seriously wrong with them. So, it's like a catch 22 situation. While the word Vampire has helped a lot of people realize what they are, it's also a word that causes a lot of people unaware of real vampirism to shriek back and think someone is insane when they claim they are a real vampire.

The only thing we can do for society is try to educate them. Not everyone is going to be opened minded about it and there's really nothing we can do about it. Except try to reach those who are more accepting and can get past the word.

The first thing that comes to mind is *blushes* making love to another vampire whom I loved. The energy was simply incredible. Don't worry...no details. lol

The first time I came across another Vampyre "in the flesh", so to speak. It was magnetic, enthralling, and truly wondrous. There's nothing like being in such "charged" company.

I don't think it would matter what we call ourselves. There are groups in our community that chose to use other terminology. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet".

I think that the name "Vampyre", coupled with Fictional (not just Hollywood) vamps have brought a lot of nonsense our way. But on the other hand, the word itself and its connotations (via fiction/mythology) have also aided in protecting a potentially "harass-able" community. Especially those without a large community back up system. Instilling a little fear or paranoia can be a "life saver" at times. A lone vamp is often a vamp in tough circumstances. That's been my experience anyway.

As far as referring to vampyres as something akin to "the energy depleted", that's just plain wrong. I don't view the situation as a handicap. I believe we have more energy needs because we function on a higher more demanding plane, not because we leak. LOL.

anyway.......

I think the most profound experience thus far would have to be the initial self realization process. It's unlike any other experience I've ever had and there was definitely a certain charge and particular feeling of magickal essence the first time I consciously feed for the first time. Its the kind of thing you never forget and there's the feeling of electricity pounding thought your body as you begin to process for the first time what you have been craving you entire life. It's hard to put it into words, because I feel it is so much more than I can describe.
