Things have been pretty quiet around here over the last few days.
There's been things that have come up that has taken a lot of my attention lately, but that hopefully will calm down soon.
But I noticed a pattern this time of year, it seems many of us get the end of winter blahs about this time of year.
Where some of us just don't feel quite right. We will get quiet and look for solitude.

Looking around me though, I'd never know that spring is right around the corner. We still have snow on the ground and its snowing today.

Do you go through bouts of ickyness this time of year as well?

I do. Winter is my least favorite time of the year. And after it has dragged on I am ready for warmer days.

Yes, mainly because I live in a state where I don't see the seasons change at all. Considering where everyone else lives, having a Winter in the 70's-80's would be a blessing, but not for me, it sickens me. Sorry but I had to say it.

I find any season or weather that goes on too long tedious. But winter does seem to be singular in the scope of the doldrums which it invites.

I do love it when it is fresh and new, though!

I'm hibernating and pretending I'm in Mexico. Seriously.

I have bad depression right now and hardly ever open my blinds or go outside.
I always get this way this  time of year but it seems a bit worse this time.

Actually, I took time today to go outside and play with the dogs and walk around a bit. It's freezing cold and I couldn't stay out for long, but it did help.

Elf, I don't know how anyone can live anywhere that theres really no season. I would go insanely mad!

Tell me about it  Tongue
January of last year I went to Georgia to visit relatives, I almost cried. I saw trees with leaves falling! I saw brown, yellow, and red leaves.

That would be heavenly for me. Constant warmth= insane amounts of jet skiing. I may still be riding if it was year round warmness here. Not to mention Ghost Hunting in abandoned buildings with no power in the cold is a bummer.

Here in beautiful historic downtown Arizona, one can have the best of both worlds.

In Phoenix we have palm trees and winters with daytime temps no lower than the 50s. Drive two hours north to Flagstaff, and you can have full-on freezing winter complete with majestic peaks and skiing.

In my winters in the northeast, I've gotten the winter blahs bigtime. Seems like my body spent half its energy just trying to keep warm. I decided that year-round warmth is good.  Smiley

I'm doing the opposite.  I absolutely loathe winter.  Spring is my favorite season and I actually feel the transition now from winter to spring which has made me happier, more confident, less lazy, and over all just ecstatic.  I can actually feel myself awakening from a sort of mental hibernation and anyone who's around me a lot will confirm that.

I haven't been able to feel those energies yet.

I love the Winter, no blahs here Grin  It is the only time I don't sweat to death. All the creepy crawlies are asleep now.  I live in the Middle East and it is very hot.  I hate the Spring, even though it is the only time it is beautiful here, (I suffer from hay fever).  The rest of the year it is just too hot to move.  I wouldn't mind if it was just during the day, but it doesn't even cool down at night.  As soon as summer hits, I go on night shift.

I always get bouts of ickyness around this time of year, I love winter and hate summer. I can't stand the sun and heat, it always depresses me somewhat to know fall is so far away again. Sad

It has been a strange day in Pa. folks. We still have 2 feet of snow on the ground and the high today was 71! needless to say the kids and I were outside all morning. Had lunch on the patio and played in the snow barefoot! It was a rare opportunity and we took full advantage of it. It did wonders for this southern girl's spirits to be able to soak up some sunshine. I truly miss the weather down south. I'm predicting that it will only be a couple more winters before we wind up packing up the heathens and heading south again!

Today has been great!  Nice and sunny in the morning with the temperature in the sixties and spring showers in the afternoon and evening.  I've felt great!  The sad news is that feeling this great and truly alive again has ended in me spending more money than I should.  Gas = $20, lunch $6,  new hermit crab shells $4, 2 new hermit crabs $10 dollars, money left in Caitlin's bank account is probably close to zero again.  That and I didn't get to walk my dog today.  All worthy losses though for the weather getting better. I am pretty ready for the nice summer nights where I can sit out and enjoy the moon and stars again. That always seems to lift my spirits and make me feel like I can face the day.

Regardless of how much I complain about warm winters down here; mainly because when I think of Winter I think of cold and changing colors, I am too looking forward to the humid nights filled with mosquitoes  Laughing

MMMMMMM Mosquitoes.  I get goose bumps just thinking of them.  Around here we don't have mosquitoes, we have pterodactyl's.  Damn things could carry off a moose. But humid is good.  I'm a June baby so bring on the heat.
