I was asked on another site if there's a correlation between vampire and empaths. In the sense of aborbing others emotions be compared to feeding on prana? What's your thoughts on this matter?

I can see a similarity. An empath is absorbing emotional energy. The difference may come in that a vampire needs to feed on the energy where an empath absorbs it, but does not require it. That is my view from my limited knowledge.

Actually, I agree with you. In my opinion it is a matter of need to take the energy in to be fully healthy.

An Empath feels the emotions of another person while a Vampire feeds off the energies of people.
A Vampire can also be an Empath, but that's not what makes them a Vampire. It's the need to feed of the energy or life essence of people. That's my thought.

I know that I'm an empath but not quite sure if I am a Vampire.. I have a gut instinct though that I cannot denounce.... it's quite confusing.

It can be very confusing. Add to that the fact that we change and grow constantly. Sometimes it seems like just when we get it sorted out, it changes again on us. lol

I am both, though I knew about the empathy long before I realized and accepted my Vampiric nature.

I don't believe that an empath, with no vampiric tendancies can "feed" on the emotions of another. Be influenced for a short time by them? Yes. But truly take that persons emotions into themselves? No.

To me it's always felt like an echo. You can feed off of the persons energy, and sometimes their emotions do relay themselves along with that energy. But not on an exclusively emotional basis.

Did that make any sense? I know what I meant, but I'm not sure if it came out the right way LOL!
