While on my travels throughout the VC, one question always comes up on vampire forums.

How many people have light sensitivity problems? This can mean sensitivity to the sun, or it could mean any type of direct light.
Do you think light sensitivity has anything to do with vampirism or do you think sometimes people try and link it to vampirism, because of the myths of sunlight and the mythical vampire?

Thoughts? Are you sensitive to light? Even though, it's not really genetic, when I say genetic, I'm referring to being fair/light skinned or some other genetic reason.

I am very light sensitive but it is due to medications and health issues that I have.  My eyes are especially light sensitive.

I have the same problem as well. The light bothers my eyes so I don't like to go out too much. Tends to burn a little and I shy away from it. I have had my eyes check and what not and they say my eyes are fine. Meds are not the issue either, but I could never figure out why.

I do not consider myself vampyric, but I myself tend to have similar issues with a lot of light.  We are guessing though that it might be something on the spectrum of Asperger's Syndrome.  I am going to take a test on this in a few weeks to confirm it.

I have some sensitivity to light, though problems arise mainly when I'm low-energy and off balance. In that way, I think it does tie in with vampirism.

Very light sensitive. Natural.

I have to wear dark sunshades in the sun. I wear a prescription but have them tented very dark.

I have nighttime driving glasses too.... they are with a slight tent [enough to see in the dark but keeps the lights from other cars and street lamps from hurting my eyes].

In the house, I rarely turn on lights - if I do, it's  a lamp with the lowest watts I can get too see clearly... usually about 15 to 25 amps.

I have always been very "photo-sensitive". Though there is a medical reason for this. Most people are born with a natural UV shield built into their corneas. I was not. I have been to several ophthalmologists. And although they find it fascinating, they cannot seem to find a reason for it. They suspect that it goes along with the Heterochromia. (My eyes are different colors). Though my father and several of my siblings suffer the same affliction. Without the color variances.

My eyes are very sensitive to both sunlight and the light from vehicles at night.
Years ago I was told that I had astigmatisms in both eyes and this would cause sensitivity to bright light. So I don't consider it to be related to vampirism.
Also, being fair skinned I have issues with the sun. I love the warmth but at the same time I tend to burn. So between both problems I just stay in the shade.

I've always seemed to enjoy when it is darker outside. Rainy days, and when all the lights are out besides a few candles. For me it is just a preference I've attained throughout the years. -shrug- But I am anemic so I am quite pale.   Roll Eyes
