As a pagan, I too am always concerned about the ethics of taking "life force" from another, with or without permission.

It may sound strange, but in extreme cases where I have no donor access, I have accidentally "fed" when my fingers touched my computer screen. I got a sudden rush and tingle (like I do when I have the opportunity to feed sanguinely) and felt very good for a few days.
Apparently, this only happens when I deny myself to the point of illness.

And I have found a permanent donor in my husband (who is therian, we believe) and has an over abundance of energy, so much so that if I don't slake it off of him he can get violent mood swings.

I have had the opportunity to feed from the elements as well, Wind makes me manic.. I always want to work work work, earth (I usually bury my hands in it, roll it in my fingers) makes me quasi-full, but sleepy. I have fallen asleep many times, my face in the dirt.
