For those on here who shoot with SLRs this should interest you. Sigma is going to release a 50mm 1.4 lens. This one will be an EX lens with a HSM ring motor which will make for some very fast, very quiet focusing. And probably put a dent in Canon's 50mm 1.4 sales as it does not have a ring motor. If this lens is as sharp as Sigma's 30mm 1.4 I'll be picking one up.

I own a Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens and it is very nice. If this lens is it's equal or it's better, then it will be a fantastic lens.

That might be something to keep an eye out for.  I like the pricing and availability to be announced part.

If they want to keep it competitive with the Canon 50 then it will be priced $280-$300. That is my guess.
