It's required that members read and follow the rules and guidelines provided below. Simply put these rules are common sense and in use to keep the forum enjoyable for everyone!

Disclaimer:
This is a User to User, English language only Support Forum. Information or opinions contained in any posts belong solely to the user making the post and is in no way validated by Aquilus.net or Aquilus.net's opinions, to include those of our moderators. Use of any information on this board is done so AT YOUR OWN RISK. While we may at time respond to posts, Aquilus.net and it's owner makes no warrants or claims regarding the validity of any information posted by users on this board nor do we review posts for accuracy of information.

This board is moderated by both Aquilus.net/owner as well as 3rd party member moderators and we request that you please be respectful when interacting with our moderating team.

Membership:
Members at any given time are only allowed one account (Username).
If you should forget your password, please use the "Lost Password" feature on the front of the site under the login. If you still have problems logging into your account use the Contact Us option under the Main Menu to contact Administration and get help with your account.

Only one account per person. If a friend or significant other uses your account, your are held responsible for their activities while being logged in to your account and if Adminstration finds out the account is being used by more then one person, the account will be banned permanently. We will not allow members to share their account with other people. Therefore, wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, friends or family members, must each have their own account.

Grammar:
We ask that all members do their best when posting in these forums. We ask that you capitalize the beginning of a sentence and always use proper punctuation. Do not use cell phone text speech such as: u, b, b4, ur, 8.
Words such as LOL, LMAO, IMHO, IMO, BTW are fine to use. If you need to spell check your post, which we highly recommend, there is a button at the bottom of each board that you reply or start a new topic on.  Please use this before posting!  We also do not allow Shakespearean english in the forums. We're relaxed here and there's simply no need for it. It's also quite irritating to read and respond to. If English is a second language, please notify an admin so we are aware and can always help you!

Proof read your posts before clicking the submit button, click on the "Preview" button. If you see an error you can always click on edit and edit your post.
If you use Internet Explorer, you can download IESpell I use this one myself and absolutely love it!  For Firefox you can either search for an add-on or install this one: Spellbound Or the latest versions of Firefox has a spell check already in place, if you turn it on.

Use your space bar!! "postingssuchasthisarehardtoread." Or, "postings sucha sthis is har dto read" Another example: "I went to the store today,I found a good book called Castings and Spells.I would recommend it to everyone!" After you use punctuation, hit that space bar!  The above sentence should look like this: "I went to the store today, I found a good book called Castings and Spells. I would recommend it to everyone!"

Excessive foul language
We ask that you please be considerable of others and not use excessive foul language on this site. Excessive meaning, every other word or every paragraph containing foul language. And please do not use character maps to censor yourself. This just looks silly and is still considered as using foul language excessively.

Bashing/Trolling/Flame Wars
Bashing of all religions and different belief systems, is prohibited on these boards. Everyone comes from a different walk of life, do not insult someone by tearing apart their beliefs or deity/deities.

Do not bash or insult other members, name calling and other childish remarks will most likely get you banned. Insulting or name calling or not giving respect to an Admin or Moderator could cause you to lose your membership. These people are here to enjoy themselves as much as you are, so please respect them.

Trolling and/or attempting to bait others into a flame war will not be tolerated. This is to include any political commentary. Any posts we deem to fall in this category will be deleted.

Threads that are created with the sole purpose of providing negative commentary towards the actual person/persons are not permitted. If you wish to critique a public figure, make sure your comments are constructive and reasonable. These principles also apply to signatures, avatars, and the like. Additionally, threads that degenerate into nothing more than hate-filled ranting will also be closed and members will be warned in either case.

NOTE: To ensure that your thread is not closed, when starting a thread criticizing the comments or actions of a real life individual, you should approach the issue in a nonjudgmental way, I.e. present your case factually and draw a non-hateful conclusion from that.

Politics
This is a no politics message board. We ask that theres no replies or topics started on politics. If you started a topic on politics, your topic will be deleted and you will be contacted by Admin. If you reply to a topic with any type of political content, your post will be deleted entirely and you will be contacted by an Admin. If it continues or arguments start, you will be warned once and the next time you will lose your forum privileges for 14 days.

Poetry/Short Stories
We do not allow any type of creative writing or journaling in our forums.
We would prefer to focus on the subjects of vampirism and the occult and spirituality than creative writings.
In the past when we allowed poetry/short stories in our forums, our latest post block on the front of the page
would update the latest posts in the forum and knock down all the inquiries and information our members provided in the forum on other subjects and many topics would get overlooked by poetry and such. Plus, allowing creative writings in the forum can affect the performance of the forum if there's a lot of creative writing in the forum.

Bloodletting Discussions and Spells
We ask that you do not ask or post about bloodletting or Sanguine Vampirism or Blood fetishes in our our general forums!  We have our Vampire Innersanctum forum to discuss sanguine discussions.   Spells should only be submitted to our Book of Shadows forum. Anyone found giving a minor information on bloodletting or spell work, will immediately lose their membership privileges. We are not a donor support site.

Suicide, Self Harm, Self Mutilation, Cutting
We do not allow any form of discussions on suicide, self harm, self mutilation or cutting. These are all topics that require professional guidance and help. Posting on these subjects will get your posts/topics deleted immediately and you will be contacted by an admin and given a warning. If it continues or theres an argument on the subject, you will lose your posting privileges for 14 days. We urge you to seek out help. Here are some valuable links that we feel will be of great service to you.

Giving Medical or psychiatric help/advice
No one on this site and/or forum is allowed to give another member or admin any advice on medicine or their health or their mental condition. We are not professionals in the medical industry and giving such advice is not allowed at all.
If a member is found giving professional advice on medicines, diagnosis, mental health or other professional advice, you will lose your forum privileges for 14 days or be banned immediately (At Admins discretion). No questions asked, no questions answered. The only thing that can be offered is to suggest that a member/admin seek professional help (ie: see a doctor).

Sharing Videos, Links and Images
You may only embed videos that are on You Tube. Please no graphic videos! Click on the You Tube icon under the "Add BBC tags" and within the brackets include the url (web address link).
Do not spam my forums with your links! We have a Link Exchange program where you can leave your link.
Images: No more then 4 images can be allowed in one single post. Also, any broken images will be removed.
If a thread is started to just show images and later on the images show up broken, the whole thread will be deleted.
You can only link to images that are hosted on your account at an image hosting company such as Photobucket.
I like to keep things organized around here and will not allow a bunch of broken images showing up in my forums.

Adult links and jokes or posts of a mature nature, including illegal substances.
We ask that you keep any adult content off of this site! We have minors on this site and we ask that posts in the more general forums are kept PG-13.
Do not discuss illegal substances in any of the forums (drugs, pot, speed, heroin, cocaine, or others), doing so, could get you banned!

Access to other forums
If you would like access to our other forums, such as the Book of Shadows, Vampire Innersanctum or our Dungeon, you must be of legal age (18+). You must introduce yourself before gaining access to these forum. Admin holds the right to deny access to anyone at any time. Most times, you won't be allowed access if you had other issues in the forum, bashing name calling, etc....

Responding to a topic
Please do not change the subject lines of a post. It makes it hard for those who are following a certain topic if the subject line is changed. Just ignore the subject line and respond to the post.

No duplicate or repeat posts
If no one answers your question or responds to your post, please "bump" it rather than posting it again. Posting the same question over and over or in every forum will just annoy people and will not get answers.

Forum issues, Member issues, Account issues
If at any time you have a question about your account, the forum, or another member is causing you to feel uncomfortable, please contact an admin immediately, so we can help you or take care of the problem and work something out with you. We are not mind readers and don't always catch everything. So bringing something to our attention is always a wise thing to do. Your information will remain anonymous.

Bashing of all religions and different belief systems, is prohibited on these boards. Everyone comes from a different walk of life, do not insult someone by tearing apart their beliefs or deity/deities.

I'm noticing an issue here that I would like to squash, before it gets a little out of hand.
We have all come across people who are a little zealous in their religious beliefs and that can definitely have an impact on our lives. However, when it comes to discussing these types of people, please do not lump them all together with other's who practice a similar way or religion. It's like that Psychic Vampires thread I posted about. Where that motivation speaker lumped all psychic vampires as evil or bad. I'm noticing that some are lumping all people who practice an organized religion as a bad people, or other unnecessary statements. Statements like this just spread hate and further it. I won't allow it on this site at all. We all come from different backgrounds and beliefs, let's have some tolerance here and be courteous to those who do not believe the same as you.

The rule simply states:
Quote
Bashing of all religions and different belief systems, is prohibited on these boards. Everyone comes from a different walk of life, do not insult someone by tearing apart their beliefs or deity/deities.

This is not up for discussion, this rule will be enforced and if I see further discussions heading that way, the posts will be deleted and the members will be put on a short term ban from posting in the forum. And if that doesn't stop it, I will start banning permanently.

Thank you.

Bumping this back up, we're seeing quite a few spelling and grammar mistakes in the forum.
It's required that you spell check your posts and watch your grammar.
If we notice it becoming a continuous problem and it's 40% or more of your post that needs to be edited, we will start deleting posts, returning the post to you and have you correct it and re-post it.

Here's the rules:
