I have been looking into this path because I love to cook but hate to clean.....lol.

If you love to cook, this is a great path for you.  Think of cooking a meal that can heal or protect or whatever you like.  All in using different herbs and teas, its also alot of fun.  Also who likes to clean?  Not me but after looking into it I enjoy it alot more because I make a ritual out of it and know I'm making my house better and more relaxing.

Here are some of the tips I have read and maybe they can help you.

When beginning, always clean your work space both physically and spiritually.  Put fresh water around your kitchen and say a prayer.

Keeping a quartz crystal by or near your stove when cooking, makes your food taste better.

Growing basil in your kitchen helps keep away negative spirits.

Try growing your own herbs.  It will keep a stronger energy and smell good in your kitchen.

Plant a Herbs when the moon is in Cancer, Scorpio, Libra or Pisces.

Try to always use fresh ingredients.

Put a whole bulb of garlic by the window repel negative energy.

Make or buy a kitchen witch.

Herbs should never be boiled in aluminium but in copper or earthware.

A lunar calendar showing the phases of the moon.

A kitchen Altar.

Thats all I can think of at the top of my head at the moment but I will write more when it comes to me.

Please feel free to add on.  I would love to hear others.

Very nice! Thanks for all the information.
There are a few I am going to have to do.
I love the idea of putting a quartz crystal the stove, the basil to keep spirits away, and the garlic in the window.
I may just have to put a garlic bulb in all the windows!

I love to cook!  Tongue
Growing herbs is fun too, but messy with pots of dirt in your kitchen. I recommend the Aero-garden, which is a indoor hydroponic kit that works wonderfully I will say.

I used to cook all the time. Made my own bread, my own pasta ..everything. Not so anymore.
I also used to have a good sized garden.

I miss that a lot, but it isn't possible where I am living now. I hope to move soon and may be able to have a little container garden there though. Smiley

Poppy, you can grow some of them inside.  I got this cool planter that has herbs inside, its not big and it looks really nice...I love it and I got it as a gift. I also have three pot that I made from pots at the dollor store.  You don't need to have lots just a few it makes a big difference and when you don't have the space its perfect.  I can't wait to move into my house cause then I will be able to have a garden in the back but I make do with what I got for now.

Thanks everyone for your input.  I love hearing everyones ideas, its wonderful.  Keep them comming.

Elf, you have an AeroGarden? I want one so bad!! I love to cook and use fresh herbs. I've also thought about looking into more information on Kitchen Witches. I think it might be of interest to me and something that will feel completely natural to me.

Here's more info on the AeroGarden for those interested.

Where I live currently we don't have nice rich soil, we have clay like soil. So, there's no going out and working on a garden with that type of soil and I don't want to break by back just trying to dig a small hole! lol

Yes, my friend Mark sent me the link to the AeroGarden site. It works great because I'm not knocking over small pots of dirt and herbs.

I am returning more and more to cooking from scratch and imbuing the food with positive energy that I feed my family.

Interestingly my cooker is north facing. my fridge freezer south facing and my window west facing. I find it very 'earthing' to cook this way, with the window open and my 'woman wisdom' CD playing in the background.

My kitchen is being gutted and renovated in a couple of weeks (thank you boiler leak) so I will be getting a range cooker in there and lovely white units with black worktop.. clean lines and bright light.

I'm looking forward to many more cooking hours in there.
