I just found this on Yahoo and felt like it was a blast from the past, for those of us who were teenagers during the 80's. There's some bands on this list, I never listened to, cause I couldn't stand them and other's that I loved!

What do you think?

Uhh, Queensryche, Van Halen, Ozzy, and Aerosmith are not hair bands. And Loverboy in a metal list. Roll eyes Laughing

There are some cool bands in there though. And they have Vixen. I always thought Vixen was way under rated.

Cool find Mel.

I would agree, I would also add that The Scorpions are not a hair band. And Guns N Roses, while they were playing the bars in L.A. and had the big hair, before Appetite for Destruction and maybe Axl had the big hair in the Welcome to the Jungle video, they really are not what I consider a hair band. When I think of a hair band, I think of pop-ish metal. That was all over MTV at any given time. I liked Vixen too and had their first album or actually I had it on cassette tape! lol They are what I would call pop metal. But usually or at least for me, hair metal was the pop (or commericalized) metal that became popular and the bands had the hair to match! lol

I'm just glad Hanoi Rocks made the list, after all, they are the one's that started the makeup and big hair trend way back in the early 80's.

Yeah, Scorpions and Guns definitely don't belong on there. Looks like we are on the same page about our music opinions.

Be careful old friend, you are dating yourself. There could be members on here who don't even know what a cassette is. Laughing

I saw the Scorpions on TV the other day promoting their tour.  If I ever get that old and try to strut around the stage singing off key in a leather jacket and no shirt, somebody please shoot me.  I used to enjoy their music, now I have mental images that'll scar me for the rest of my life. EEK!

I have to agree with Bobby, their are a few bands on there that are not hair bands, and a few bands that should have been on there.

Does anyone remember those?  Tongue

Remember what the phonograph?  Hell I still have a record player.  Need something to play my records on.  Yes kids records, big plastic disks with grooves in them.  Yes kids, I'm dating myself.  My first car had an 8 track.
