Hi I have been looking around bookstores for different books on different religions. I would like to learn about them all. I'm not too sure which books I should believe or not so I ask for book suggestions from people with experience. please?   Smiley

Are there any particular religions you are interested in first?

Well its between Buddhism and Paganism right now. Both interest me equally. Hard to choose which to research first.

... Paganism isn't a religion. It's an umbrella term to encompass several. Which Pagan religion are you after?

Well I knew that paganism wasn't a religion.  I had meant that I want to learn about all the religions that fall under it.

Try Which Witch is Which? by Telesco.

There is also Pagan Paths by Jennings ... it's concise and not a bad read.

Buddhism for Beginners by Thubten Chodron is a good place to start with Buddhism I believe. It's what I first read when exploring the religion and I thought it was helpful and easy to understand.

I have delayed in answering because I wanted to try and think of one book that would not only explain the basic precepts of Buddhism but also talk about the different sects.
I went through my bookshelves without luck, I'm afraid.

I do have some links to sites on the internet that might help.

http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/qanda01.htm

http://www.religionfacts.com/buddhism/sects.htm

I hope this gives you some of the answers you are looking for.

Good luck. Smiley
