Seriously, I`m thinking of buying this little palace as a summer retreat: http://www.mybulgariaproperty.info/Bulgarian_Property_3_279_1.html

I mean..You can`t even buy a trailer home for that money over here, and look at the surroundings. I love it! Smiley

What do you guys think?

it's beautiful! I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it had 6 bedrooms for my heathens! LOL

seriously, you're right. you can't even get a trailer in decent condition for $23,000 US now.

**hmmmmm.... maybe we should look into relocating to eastern Europe. I've thought a couple of times over the years that it'd be nice to live someplace close to Greece or Crete. You can still get some places for under $50,000 US. But hubby just rolls his eyes when I mention it. LOL

Hmm...Tornadoes vs. active volcanoes, I think I'll take the tornadoes over the volcanoes. lol It's a beautiful area though Tabz.  Wink There was something on the History channel the other night about Crete  Hmmm... OH! It was about Atlantis and they think they found it over there around Crete, they think it was destroyed by a huge volcano and then came the tsunamis!

You can get places cheap in Michigan, but here isn't any work to be had.

I have heard of trailers in good shape going for $3,000.
I have also heard of people giving their houses away rather than abandon them.

This state is in a major depression and there are a lot of foreclosed houses for sale cheap.

Crete is beautiful. I have been on vacation overthere two years ago. Smiley

This house, however is closer to the Black Sea area. Its driving distance from the beach and the Romanian border if you want to see something else for a change.

I`m currently trying to persuade my dad that its an investment, which is not even that far from the truth. The Bulgarian economy is slowly improving, so Real Estate prices will go up. Smiley

Kind regards,

The House is very beautiful Wilhelm I'm jealous that you have even a choice to purchase it!

Poppy- I was speaking with a friend the other day who was visiting from Michigan and she was telling me about how her and her boyfriend have no way to pay bills right now and they might have to move back because they're having such a hard time getting a job.

Yeah. It's truly bad here. People are having to move out of state to find work.

I lived in Arkansas for 13 years, I've had enough of tornadoes! As for volcanoes? it's the only natural disaster I HAVEN"T been through!

And I was actually looking at a place on the backside of Mykonos, away from the town proper. It was an old hostel(w/running water, some don't ya know) and a few acres. They only wanted $28,000 US. I was gonna fix it up and open it back up.

But that was before I met my husband. Boy did that idea go south when we started having kids! LOL

Its not the easiest thing to move to another country when you have kids, but its absolutely doable. Smiley

I grew up in South Africa. When I was 12, my parents decided that the situation overthere was going downhill fast. They decided to move, though they were not sure where to. (There was even talk about Australia. Smiley) As my mom was a Dutch national, we had no need for a visa here, so it became Holland.

Biggest problem for me was the language. I had to go to an international school (schools that teach in English) for the first couple of years, because my knowledge of Dutch was rudimental at best. I came out alright, though I seriously get homesick during winter. lol

Kind regards,
Wilhelm
