Re: Last movie you watched

Since I last logged in with actual time to add a posting I have seen several movies.
Two disks I just got was compilations of Charlie Chaplin and W.C. Fields shorts, terrific stuff.
Also I got a copy of a wonderfully silly comedy called The Fat Spy (1966) starring Jane Mansfield and Phyllis Diller.
And I bought a Copy of the film Book Of Shadows Blair witch 2 which was a great film.
If as we find in a booklet by the Director and in his commentary he would have been able to have done it his way it could have been one of the best films of the modern era.
Which speaks to how often studio suits know too little about what makes a great film.
We can hope he gets to re-edit it the way it should have been someday.

The Mists of Avalon and it was really good! I haven't read the book yet, but I plan on picking it up soon. Between watching The Mists of Avalon, I've also been watching Lost season 3 and The Tudors Season 1. I love those shows! Smiley

Shoot Em Up!  This was an excellent action packed movie. I really enjoyed it.
I also saw Alvin and the Chipmunks, not to long ago. It was very cute. I used to watch the cartoon all the time.
P.S. Breakfast Club is also one of my favorites along with Pretty in Pink, ect...

Re: Last movie you watched

The last movie we watched was Beowulf. It has to be the best I have seen in a long time. The CGI was incredible. And I was very impressed with the "realness" of the action. Though I wouldn't recommend it for the under 13 set. The violence was incredibly graphic. But for the most part they stayed true to the original story. I definitely will never look at Anthony Hopkins the same way again! LOL. All in all, I'd give it 4 stars.

Frivolity aside, I think I will never tire of that film. But my next viewing will be on disk.  EEK!
