I just saw the trailer for the new Harry Potter movie and this one looks really good! Not that the past films have not been good.

Here's a link to watch the trailer.

Very cool Melissa, thanks for sharing. The Harry Potter movies are always well done with great special effects.

I have to agree Mel the trailer did look quite good.  I'll probably go see once it hits theaters

I can't wait to see it! I love the Harry Potter movies. I also love watching things like that in the theater because it's so 'in your face'. You just can't get the same effect on the TV!

I usually wait till these movies come out on DVD and then just buy them cause I know I'll like them and can watch them more then once. This one, though, I think I'm going to go see in the theater.

Odd that I stumbled onto this thread first as I came back in Melissa. I was just the other day wondering about the next Harry Potter film as I chased down again the opening day for the final Pirates movie (pirates are always close to my heart Grin). Like practically everyone else, I also have loved the Harry Potter Film series, and like you I also usually wait for the DVD to come out. Funny that because I saw the first 3 in the Theater. I suppose part of it is being away from a large movie theater where I am. The theater I used to go to all the time had a screen like an IMAX Theater with a sound system to match. Small theaters are okay, but I really do miss the entire experience. Small or not though, I'll be in the Caribbean in a fort-night. Love this stuff!

Peace>

I've done the same thing with the Pirates movies. It's another one I have to see on the big screen this time around.
Around here, we have the big theater complexes, where they can show 20 movies at different times. So, we don't have the big screen theaters around here anymore. We do however have an IMAX theater at our Science Center, but, you have to pay for admission into the Science Center and the ticket for the movie.  Which could end up to be quite a bundle for an hour and half or two.

AT IMAX theatres, the last 20 minutes of OotP will be shown in 3-D.

Yah... the Ministry of Magic fight scenes.

I've been a major Harry Potter fan since before they ever made the first movie, so I usually both see it in the theater AND buy the DVD...lol... my only complaint is one they can't really do anything about.  The books are so long and the movies have to fit a timeframe and so so much is skipped or skimmed over in the interests of time that if you haven't read the books you can get lost easily.  I kept having to explain what was going on to the guy I went with because he hasn't read the books.  I also just plain miss what they take out.  I still love the movies though.  Smiley

Okay, so has anyone seen it yet? Was it as good as the trailers look? Give us a review, but please, for those who haven't read the books, don't spoil it for the rest of us!

Oh I seen it. It was good. To me more could of been in it but I say that about all of them, being I've read the books repeatedly. The movie was quite as good as the others. I do have to say that Goblet of Fire was awesome.

I went to see with my boyfriend, who I had to practically drag to the movies to see it.  I thought the movie was pretty good, but it could have been better.  My significant other, on the other hand, absolutely hated it.
