I've been to Bachelors Grove Cemetery multiple times, but there are certain times where you feel as though you should not go down the path anymore, and I usually tell my friends we're not welcome today and we leave. Yesterday I had that feeling, and I continued on. Not a minute after I felt that way my friend told me that she felt a sharp pain in her side, and then I saw a shadow go across the path. We decided to leave needless to say, but I never had physical contact with any of those spirits before yesterday. I've always just felt them.
The other night as a matter of fact I thought I felt the old man who lives in our complex, I saw his figure in white randomly when I opened my eyes and he just left.
Is there a chance that my abilities are finally blossoming?

Interesting experience Assai. You could becoming more sensitive to spirits. Or maybe you are more open to experiences such as this. That would be my opinion.

Sensitivity can wax and wane. Maybe you are going through a period in which you are more sensitive to them.

You both have great points, I feel more in tune then usual. Maybe sense I'm going through a cusp of sorts that is whats heightening everything.

Another thing: As we approach Samhain the veil between the worlds becomes thinner, making it easier for them to come through.

That has something to do with the Harvest, right?
It always happens every year now that I think about it. That's most likely why it feels so electric during these months...

Sounds like a cool experience. Bachelors Grove is well known in the paranormal community. If I remember correctly it is on one of Troy's ghost tours of Chicago.

 Smiley
I've been going there sense I was around 12. I lived near the area, and there are a lot of haunts surrounding where I grew up. Resurrection Cemetery (Resurrection Mary) is near, as well.

A little history of my birth town, interestingly enough when I read this it all clicked.

Alsip - Cemetery(s ) - Alsip was once a huge brickyard for Chicago, as well as a planned cemetery. A really large one, supposedly dubbed The City of Chicago Cemetery. Many of the older houses have pre-dug graves within. Since not all of Alsip was used as a cemetery, the plan was debunked. However, Alsip has Illinois' largest cemetery count. There have been cases of ghosts, poltergeist activity (objects moved around homes), voices, etc. Besides its own graveyards, Alsip also borders several famous ones such as Holy Sepulcher.

If anyone is interested here is a good site I found with a tour.

Another thing: As we approach Samhain the veil between the worlds becomes thinner, making it easier for them to come through.

I pulled this from another thread in the forums. This was posted by AlwaysNight.

It's a time which is thought to be when the division between the living and the dead
was at its thinnest. Samhain was considered to be a gateway not only from the land of the dead to the land of the living, but also between Summer and Fall/Winter.

Troy's tours go to Resurrection cemetery also. Some day I am going to get up there and check them out.

Resurrection isn't too exciting. Unless you check out where their resident phantom "Resurrection Mary" supposedly bent the cemetery gate's bars..
