AN IPSWICH teen who stabbed the family dog with a piece of glass revealed she wanted to kill the pet out of a desire to be a vampire.

Kayler Rose-Maree Scott, 18, made the bizarre statement yesterday when she faced Ipswich Magistrates Court for animal cruelty on August 21.

When police spoke to her, Scott admitted she intended to kill the pooch but the piece of broken glass was not sharp enough.

Prosecutor Sergeant John Nelson said Scott was arguing with her mother and yelled "I want to see blood and I don't care whose blood it is" and if she saw the dog she would kill it.

Scott stabbed the dog in the stomach with a piece of broken glass but did not pierce the skin and the canine escaped her grasp, Sgt Nelson said.

The teen also damaged property during her outburst at the Eastern Heights property.

Wearing a bright red top and jeans with a jumper tied around her waist, Scott appeared reluctant at first to give an explanation for the offence, saying: "You wouldn't really believe me if I told you".

An experienced Magistrate Donna MacCallum replied: "Try me; I've heard most of them".

But possibly not this one.

From her seat at the bar table, Scott admitted she wanted to be a vampire - and that's why she wanted to kill the dog.

Upon hearing her comments, Ms MacCallum immediately stood the matter down for Scott's suitability for a supervision order to be assessed.

Scott, who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and wilful damage, had no criminal history.

Later a corrective services officer said Scott, who had previously seen a psychologist, expressed she would like to move on from the incident and accepted the idea of a community-based order.

Programs available to address Scott's anger management had been discussed.

Ms MacCallum noted Scott's comments about the offence and decided an 18-month probation order would be beneficial. Convictions were not recorded.

As a special condition, Scott must submit to psychiatric or medical treatment as directed.

This upsets me very much for two reasons, one obviously, I'm a dog lover and anyone who mistreats a dog in my eyes, should have the same done to them. Second of all, it's another stain on the vampire community. When things like this makes the news, it makes all of us look bad to those who don't understand, those on the outside looking in, and those who have never been part of the community.

People will remember it and think that is what vampirism is. *sighs*

Poor doggy.  Sad

They need to put a jacket on her and cut open her head to see what is going on inside.

Agreed on all counts. Nothing good can come from this.

What that kid needs is a 'wooping'.

That just more proof that not everyone can handle certain types of knowledge. I would vote for making Vampire comunities and forums 21 and up as a requirement to be admitted.

Kaos, I agree with all that you said. I have found over the years though, that if minors want on a site bad enough, they'll find a way to get on that site. So, there's really no easy way out of that. But that's one of the reasons why Sanguine information is kept in our vampire private forum, the Innersanctum.

I understand that it's hard if not impossible to tell  over the net if a person's lying or not about their age, I just wish that everyone that has a forum like this one would be conscious enough keep that information hidden as well.

I always hold Melissa and Larae in high regards for the way they work so hard to run their respective sites. They go out of their way to keep ADN and DE professional and have sensitive information in areas only accessible to those who should be reading/contributing to it.

Update on story.

A TEENAGER who tried to kill her pet dog so she could drink its blood and become a vampire has been accused of trashing her mum's Ipswich home.

Kayler Rose-Maree Scott, 18, appeared before Ipswich Magistrate's Court on Monday morning charged with wilful damage.

Scott was arrested over the weekend for allegedly smashing 15 windows of her mother's home.

In the same court last month, Scott pleaded guilty to trying to slice open the family pet with a shard of glass in a bid to satisfy her desire to become a vampire.

On September 8 prosecutor John Nelson told the court Scott confided to police she intended to kill her pet but the glass was not sharp enough to cut the dog deeply.

Sergeant Nelson said the attack on the animal occurred during a heated argument between Scott and her mother.

The court was told Scott then reportedly yelled words to the affect of: "I want to see blood and I don't care whose blood it is!"

Scott pleaded guilty to one charge of animal cruelty at Eastern Heights, 40kms southwest of Brisbane, on August 21.

She explained that she wanted to be a vampire and that was the reason behind the attempt to kill her pet pooch.

Magistrate Donna MacCallum, who initially remarked that she thought she had heard it all, placed Scott on 18-months probation, with a condition she get psychiatric or medical help.

Yesterday Scott appeared behind the secure Court 1 dock on the damage charge wearing the same blood-red top she has worn during past court appearances.

She was bailed on condition she had no contact with her mother and will reappear on November 3.
