Supernatural and Smallville Back, Jericho Toast
It's the day we've all been waiting for: the last three big networks have announced their fall pickups for next season.  Good news for genre fans all around, starting with the return of Smallville and Supernatural on the CW.  Veronica Mars is still on the bubble, though the general buzz is that there will be a short season with a time-jump forward.  The CW has also picked up Reaper, the dramedy about a slacker who takes up duties as The Guy With the Scythe.

Over on CBS, Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris series How I Met Your Mother will be returning.  Joining it will be Moonlight (previously Twilight) about Yet Another Vampire Detective.  Babylon Fields is expected to be a midseason replacement, so start the deathwatch for what's getting axed.  Speaking of, Jericho fans have been mourning all day since the news broke that their show is dead in the water.  Numb3rs, NCIS and the CSI stable are all coming back, so among those, the vampire, the dead-returning-from-their-graves and new comedy I'm in Hell, (about a dead Wall Street businessman who is allowed return to Earth courtesy of Hell being overbooked), the Eye will be seeing more dead people than a Chicago polling place.

Last but not least, ABC put up its schedule.  Lost is back, of course.  Pushing Daisies looks to be a promising starcrossed romance/detecive series, starring Lee Pace as a man who can revive the dead with a touch, but who can never touch his back-from-the-dead girlfriend because he'll kill her permanently.  (UST is our friend.)  Eli Stone is getting the midseason treatment, which may give it a better chance to grow.  And everyone is taking abour Cavemen, a comedy about race relations as filtered through the guys in the Geico commercials.

What will you be watching?

I can't wait to see what they do with the Caveman show. The commercials are hilarious.

Hmm...I must be one of the few that find those commericals absolutely annoying.
I was quite shocked to find out that a TV network would actually throw money at something like this. But I'll be honest, most of the sitcoms that are on now, I find no humor in. That whole Thursday night lineup on NBC, I can't stand.

I'll be watching supernatural, Lost and Heroes. Oh and other news articles I've read about the new fall lineup, every network is adding at least one new paranormal show.

Yes queen bee, ruler of gnomes, I actually find a lot of those commercials quite funny. But I can see where they are not for everyone. It won't last I'm sure. ABC stands for already been canceled. That network is notorious for canning shows.

Now is definitely the time for paranormal TV shows. It is gaining wide acceptance and a lot pf popularity. A&E will be premiering a show with the group who put on the univcon conference at Penn State university. And  I saw a commercial for a new one on Sci Fi.

The last I heard Dresden Files will have a second season. But you never know for sure till the commercials for it air.

On a side note the final season of Stargate SG1 is very good so far.

I've been noticing CBS is really advertising Moonlight. But there's been so many changes with the cast and crew of this show, I wonder if it will ever actually make it to the air. Actually, I'm getting quite tired of the vampire detective show, I think there was really only one good one and that one was Forever Knight. Anyway, here's an update on Moonlight that I found on the web.

I'm getting a bit concerned about the new CBS drama Moonlight. You know, the one about a vampire private-eye who works the streets of Los Angeles? No, I'm not confusing this show with Angel! See, that was a show about a vampire who was a private-eye working the dark streets of Los Angeles. Two totally different shows here!

I'm getting worried because of all of the changes going on for a show that hasn't even aired its first episode yet. I know that small changes can occur between the time that a show is picked up until its series premiere. But, when the changes include recasting everyone except the main character I foresee problems. And, when the person who decided to recast the show leaves after only a few short weeks I can see the words 'mid-season replacement' written all over the program.

The man doing all of the recasting was David Greenwalt, co-creator of that other vampire private-eye series Angel. Greenwalt was brought on as executive producer and showrunner for Moonlight three months ago. During that time he ditched most of the original pilot presentation and gave several prominent roles to some new actors. Late last week it was reported that Greenwalt was leaving the show due to personal reasons, which could mean actual personal reasons or a conflict of interest with other behind-the-scenes talent on the show.

Apparently, Greenwalt's departure is not affecting production of Moonlight, Original pilot writers Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson remain on the show as executive producers and principal filming of the program began two weeks ago. According to reports a new showrunner will be named in the next few days.

I wonder if all of the vampire related shows will mean a new influx of people on the boards? That could be either good or bad. lol

It possibly could Poppy. Plus we have Halloween coming up, which could prove to be pretty busy.
We'll just have to be prepared to explain about real vampires! lol Should be an interesting season to say the least!

I'm waiting for LOST to come back in Febuary. I also watch Ghost Hunters (coming back in September), Heroes and Supernatural.
I may check out some of the new fall lineup, but from what I've seen from the previews, nothing too exciting is being added.
