Most of us have favorite games we play from time to time or have played over and over again.
What's some of your favorites? And what platform do you play them on, PC, XBox, Playstation 1, 2, 3 etc..?
Why do you enjoy these games?

To be honest, I was always a fan of Mario Bros.1, 2 and 3. Those were the games that I mainly played as a child, but my partner also loves video games, so when he plays, I usually just watch. Now,that I'm older, I also enjoy mystery games. You know, the real hard ones that takes months or longer to solve.LOL.....Games like: Myst, Tomb Raider, etc.. I also like car racing games Wink

I'm not a really big fan of RPG games. I mostly prefer the quick fun ones. London, I also enjoy racing games. Doesn't matter what type of vehicle as long as I can crash and burn! LOL  I mostly play games on PS2 but lately, I've gotten hooked on Wild Games

Right now my favorite game to play is Over Lord for Xbox 360. I get to have minions, they kill for me, they steal for me, and the best part… they’ll sacrifice themselves for me. (hehe)  Evil

Where Am I?

« Reply #6 on: November 12, 2007, 11:02:47 PM »

Well truth be told I'm a very very very big Gamer. My biggest friendships aside from my wife have been forged through intense gaming. I have broken my addictions up into 2 categories Computer, and Console. Currently my favorite computer game is a Modification of the classic diablo 2, called Hell Unleashed. Same concept as original just 100 times harder. The only other games I've been interested in during the past year have been Halo, Halo 2, God Of War, and Star Wars: KOTOR. Yeah I'm nerdy, so what? Factor Racing? What's that? I tend to play a lot of racing type games, I perfer the one's you can just start and play and you don't have to dig through a bunch of stuff to get to play.
I recently just picked up a fun racing game..well, it's Horse Racing and it's a lot of fun.
It was dirt cheap on sale last Friday, so I snagged it up!  Smiley

My daughter and I play some heated games of memory on the floor. We find the floor to be an excellent platform for gaming. Having had such a good time in the 80s and 90s I now have trouble remembering where the horse and clown cards are.

On a more serious note I used to be way into Resident Evil.

I like all the old board games. I think I'm getting old  EEK!

Monopoly, Scrabble, Guestures and so on.

Then there's Mortal Combat. I have trouble with video games because I tend to get motion sickness easily. What an weirdo I am.

Sadly, World of Warcraft is my favorite game at the moment. Don't label me! I don't play more than I should (or, maybe I do, since some people think 30 minutes a day is too much!).

30 Minutes a day is not bad at all. At least you're not spending the entire night or day playing the same game as other's do. There's also been a study done that suggests a little gaming wouldn't hurt any of us. It keeps our minds active and can actually in some people help them with their memory. I suppose it depends on the type of game. And with the Wii console, you can get a little exercise as well.  Wink

I like the "Devil May Cry" series.

It started on the Playstation 2 and the company that makes the game has been making it only for the Playstation up until now. The fourth installment of the game will be available for Playstation and Xbox, which is an upset in the eyes of Sony because the game was one of their bigger money makers.

Oops getting off track here. Anyway I love the game because their is nothing better than getting to destroy enemies as either your half human/half devil self, or full blown devil with super powers, all the while trying to figure out about you and your past Laughing

Okay Nicholas! Spill it! My husband and I are hardcore Diablo 2 players. We've been playing since .08v. What is this and were can we get it??? Also, if you need a rush or want to trade, drop me a line and I'll add you to my friends lists. Laughing

We don't really play any other games. You can sometimes catch me on pogo playing mahjong or tumble bees. But that's about it.

Our PS2 blew up so we haven't played any of those games in awhile. But I was addicted to Gex 3 Tongue . And my husband was hooked for a while on Grand Turismo 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

And there's no shame in being a R.E. fan Bobby! I got to the point I could run through R.E.2 in 28 minutes on the Nintendo 64.LOL!

I don't really play video games very much. I have been spending some time in some of the RP sims on second life though.

I used to like games like Baldur's Gate,  Planescape: Torment, and older games like Dragon Lore.  I also used to love playing the Maniac Mansion series, plus Super Mario Brothers and Sonic the Hedgehog.  In addition to this, strategy games appeal to me, as well - I like playing Checkers, Literati, Reversi, and Pool.

But nowadays, I prefer not to play any games - not because I dislike them, but because of priorities.  If I have to choose between reading and writing, or playing video games, I prefer the former.  If I tried to do both at once, I would never get my studying done.

It all comes down to how much a game stimulates my mind and forces me to think, really.

I played with the Wii before.  It was nice to get exercise while having to think a little bit.  Unfortunately, I do not own a Wii personally.

Sincerely,
TheRadiantSeraphim

Well like I stated in the What drives you crazy post.  I have Vista as my OS.  I'm not playing anything right now.  I did enjoy the Might and Magic games though.

You are not alone my computer is old too. I tried to see what Second Life was all about but my dinosaur computer couldn't handle it.
Maybe some day I'll get a new one but with all the bad comments on Vista, I'll wait a while.

I use to play on Pogo too. I usually played the card games the most. I haven't pulled up Pogo in a long time. Hmm..I don't even think I remember my username!

I just pulled up Yahoo and found this:
http://videogames.yahoo.com/feature/playing-for-free/1183474

It's the 14 best free games according to Yahoo. Might be worth checking out! I didn't go through them, but there might be something good there.

The only one on that list I have tried is Runescape. It's actually an "OK" game. The graphics are a little rough. But for a free game, I guess you really can't complain. The tutorial phase is a bit longer, by necessity, then I would have liked. But all in all, I'd give it 3/5 on the "Things to do when you're bored" list. LOL!

I played it for awhile until we got our Diablo2 back up and running. D2 is so much better that I just can't bring myself to go back! It's easy enough to play that my 5 year old has his own off line character. And it requires nothing more than windows 98 to play. Smiley It's definetly addictive!

I love the game "Bioshock" for the Xbox 360. I love the old 40's feel it has about it. Bioshock is just one of those games you can play time after time just for the sake of the feel the game environment gives.

I love the ability to hack enemy machines and drones to make them your allies without having to completely destroy them. The A.I. in my opinion is fantastic!

Albeit the "Big Daddies" can be difficult to face, other enemies can still be damaged by machines they don't know you've hacked yet (as opposed to games where the opponents ALWAYS know what will hurt them). To anyone who is looking for a high quality first person shooter, I would highly recommend Bioshock.
