This happened in Tennessee.
A book in Catoosa County has one parent raising a ruckus.
Cher Ridenhour says her son brought home a book that was riddled with references to demons and witchcraft.
Joshua is in the Horizon program for advanced students.
His mother says she took him out of school and is now teaching him at home because of what she found inside this book.
The school principal says if Ridenhour would have talked to them, Joshua could have read something else.
Cher Ridenhour says" I think a lot of mothers, and fathers, would have a real problem with what's in that book."
Jan Blazejewski "It's always a parent's right to require something they find more appropriate if they have an objection."
The school principal says they've used the reader for seven years and have had only one other complaint.
They did have an anonymous complaint after Ridenhour withdrew her son, but she never talked to the school about her complaint.
