Just for fun. Who do you think is the best Dracula in all of the movies? I'm not asking for your favorite vampire character, but who you think as far as actors go, was the best Dracula and why?

That's a hard one because they are all so different.
I guess I would pick Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula.
There were some things I disliked about the movie, but I do think Oldman did a good job. To me he was able to balance just the right amount of campiness, predatory nature, sexuality, and tenderness in his love for Mina.

Interview with a vampire has to be the one for me. I like the romanticism and beauty of it all. Granted I haven't seen a lot of vampire movies but that one just gets it for me.

Twisted, I'm looking for the best Dracula, not vampire. The best actor who played Dracula.  Wink

For me it would Bela Lugosi I think, cause he just set the standard and set a very high standard.
The voice, the look, everything.

Well shoot me in the head... Okay the best Dracula would be good ole Bela... He did just a beautiful job at it. I don't think any one could do any better than he in my opinion.

He did do a good job. I think I just like Oldman because in that particular movie it showed more of the pathos and it showed his gentle side. Smiley

I agree Poppy with Oldham. I love that film. It's one of my favorite Dracula movies or even vampire movies.
It's just Lugosi holds a special place in my heart, when it comes to vampires on the screen. He was the first vampire I the saw on the big screen when I was very young. When I was in Elementary School over Halloween, we had a horror film fest one weekend and I went to it and they showed all those old black and white Universal movies and it was fun and entertaining but when Dracula from 1931 came on that screen in that gymnasium, I was hooked! lol

He did set the bar high for actors playing that part.

I'm casting my vote for Bela Lugosi also. That was a classic.

Christoher Lee...because I was brought up on Hammer Horror movies, and he'll always have a special place in my heart Grin

Bela comes a close second though.
