With the heightened senses commonly associated with vampires, there can sometimes be an overwhelming level of sensitivity to the energies emitted by those around us. When that time comes and there is no shield great enough, what measures do you take to cleanse yourself and what form of sanctuary do you seek for re-centering and balancing yourself?

I find I need to isolate and meditate. I meditate daily and find it to be very helpful.

For me, it is generally a cold dark place that helps, along with meditation and isolation. I need the cold as and added tool in order to cleanse myself from the overwhelming empathic or telepathic disturbance within when I am overcome with outside energies that can not be shielded from. I find that the most common place for this disturbance is found in a mall. Strange though, because some other places with large crowds don't bother me and I feed off the energy supply. However in a mall, if I am not in and out within an hour, I become overwhelmed.
It's like I'm allergic to mall energy or something, lol!

Well I am not vampiric but I do get a sense of overwhelming feelings when I am in public places. I pick up on peoples anger and distaste so I begin to come down and it is hard for me to come back. So I try not to go out unless I am needed to.

You could be empathic, or a sensitive.

Aside from staying well-fed, I find sleep to be the best medicine. I often don't get enough of it, so once in a while I just take a whole day, (or in my case night,) to simply sleep.

As much as the whole idea of sleeping in a coffin has nothing to do with real vampirism, I sometimes wonder if it might be beneficial. Just something to keep the world at bay for a while as I sleep and rebalance my energy. On my off days, it just sounds practical.  Roll Eyes

I have been informed that it is quite beneficial for just that reason alone. Sensory deprivation can be a boon sometimes!

Do you have specific questions?  If I don't know, I'm sure others will?
You aren't stupid for not knowing something yet. Smiley
