Thank you reading my introduction.

I am psychology professor (Ph.D. level) specializing in diagnosis and treatment of individuals with psychiatric disorders. Currently researching and exploring the dark windows of the human mind and soul. In the ivory tower, my research interest is the childhood etiology of violent behavior, especially serial killers and mass murders. Personally, I am explorer of the darkness of the mind and soul... with my own scars and pains from the abyss (yes, I have looked into the abyss and it has looked back at me).  I wish to meet kindred souls with same burning soul -- who feel out of step of life of light.

In my previous professional lives, I have been special education middle teacher, school principal at a child/adolescent psychiatric hospital, chief educational psychologist at a child/adolescent hospital, and  educational co-director of a ADHD outpatient clinic.

I am also a researcher and collector of antique (rare) books (related to medicine, education, and psychology) and civil war related documents, books, instruments related to surgeons, surgical practices, letters, diaries, etc. I have surgical sets, amputation saws, blood letting devices, etc.  Currently, I am working on a biography on one civil war surgeon based on a surgeon's personal papers.  He served in both the CSA and Union armies and quite a colorful history in New Orleans Reconstruction politics.

Hey James, your introduction was very interesting. I work in an adult psychiatric hospital here in New Orleans, so I am familiar with what you do - some what. I also have a high interest in serial killers, etc.
Thanks for sharing and nice to meet you!!! Welcome

Greetings, and welcome to ADN.  I hope you enjoy the site and I look forward to reading more of what you have to say in the rest of the forums.  By the way, I like how you indirectly referred to Nietzsche..the abyss quote is one of my favorites.
