Do you believe in past lives?  If so, to what extent do you believe in them?  Do you believe only certain people are able to determine what your past life is?  And if so, what is your views on those who are  considered frauds by most?

Please feel free to discuss.  I intend to give my responses after I read everyone else's responses.

Sincerely,
ResplendentSeraphim

I believe in the possibility of past lives. Could go a long way towards explaining deja vu.

There is a good book on this subject called Soul Journey, From Lincoln to Lindbergh. It draws lines connecting many similarities between Abraham Lincoln and Charles Lindbergh and how the latter is the reincarnation of the former. Very Interesting. Scott and Doug had the author on Ghostly Talk for a very interesting interview. I can look up the archive for anyone interested. And here is a link to the book.....

Good question. I have not decided if I do believe. I have been back and forth on this issue and can't seem to make up my mind. Sometimes I think it's true because of past memories or even phobias that we have that can't be explained.
I have been to some Psychics who have predicted my past life and at the time it makes sense. It includes fears and memories that I have now. But why would we be brought back to live again? Like the first time wasn't hard enough.
I can't wait to hear more on this...

Well that's not fair  ResplendantSeraphim.  How do I know your not going to copy off of my answer?

Seriously.  I believe that past lives hold a great deal of bearing on a persons choice of lifestyle and job preferences today.  I have always felt strongly about being a cop.  It seems right to me and I feel that I have always done something equivalent.  I feel that I have always been in a protection role of some sort.  Or maybe I bumped my head when I was young.  Actually that would explain allot of things.  ............

That is quite an accusation to make on me, don't you think?  If I did not get that massage therapy done today, I think I would have been slightly offended by this.  I am not sure if you are joking or not, but if you are, I think it would help to make that clear in the future, even if it is using something like " Tongue ".

I believe in past lives, or the possibility of having them.  My belief in reincarnation somewhat dictates that I believe in them existing, though not for everyone.  However, I do not think everyone can tell who they were in a past life just from your street corner psychic who claims so.  This is not to say I am denying the possibility that someone can determine if someone had a past life, but I try to be wary of those who boast about the claim, since it usually seems suspicious for me most of the time.

I am aware that there exists plenty of people willing to say they are Jesus Christ incarnated.  While I believe part of God exists in all of us, I do draw the line when five people claim to be the same person in a past life at once.  This is where I wonder if they are suffering from paranoid or differentiated schizophrenia. ;-)

Angela, if we do go through reincarnation, then people may come back because he/she may not have learned everything needed the fist go around. So we come back to learn more.

**Offtopic**

Sorry, I sometimes take such statements to heart since I take things like plagarism seriously.  ^_^  I did not mean to be defensive.

Don't sweat it. Sometimes it is hard to tell over the internet.

Now back to our topic.

That's what I have heard from people who understand this more than I do. Do you really think we can understand everything. I mean there is always so much to learn.
I have also hear that two people could be reincarnated because they never settled something in their past life. And somehow they meet again and deal with the same issues throughout their current life.

As humans I think we are too limited to understand everything. Which would make us the perfect platform for souls to return in to have the learning experience.

I do believe in reincarnation. I believe that there are many things that cannot be explained any other way.

As to the reasons for being reincarnated...I have no idea. Sometimes I do think that it is to learn. Sometimes I think that it is beyond  our understanding at this point.
