I am not sure I am posting this in the right place, so please excuse me if it is not.
For the last year or so I will suddenly smell smoke.  It is strong enough to irritate my nose and make my eyes burn.  It smells like grass burning, very strong cigarettes, or green wood.  Since I live on a farm, the first thing I do is check if anything is burning, and last weekend I even asked if someone was smoking in the show hall, (it is forbidden), and everyone look at me like I was nuts.  I never find the source of the smoke.
It is starting to make me think I am going insane Huh?  Why am I the only one in the room to smell it?  It happens in different places, at home or in public areas.
Has anyone had experience with this or can explain it?
This has happened to me once before when I had a period of smelling citrus fruit.

 Good Posting!

Off the top of my head, an explanation could be that maybe a loved one who passed away who use to smoke is maybe trying to let you know they are there.  I have on occasion smelled my mother's brand of cigarettes she use to smoke. But phantom smells can be almost anything. Maybe someone else has an idea.

Has anyone else experienced phantom smells?

I have experienced phantom smells before, including sulfur and cinnamon rolls at Waverly.

My advice is to first see a doctor. Make sure this isn't some odd problem, including neurological disorders. If you would like I can check with our medical experts and see if this rings any bells with them.

Assuming you do rule out medical conditions, then paranormal explanations open up. If you can, carry a small notebook with you. Every time you experience this write it down. Note everything. time, date, weather conditions including humidity and barometric pressure, moon phase, location, and if there are any noticeable temperature changes.

Thanks for the advice Bobby, but I just had my annual check up.  Healthy as a horse:)
But Melissa may have hit it on the head.  I lost my Father just over a year ago, and he was a smoker.  I miss him and perhaps this is his way of letting me know he is watching over me.  Now it makes sense, and instead of being afraid of it ,I will welcome his visit.

I always rule out all of the rational possibilities first before looking to the paranormal. Good to hear everything came out good on your annual.
