The ancients wore the star stone as a talisman, to ward off bad fortune and the evil eye.  Orientals to this day believe that its fortune-bringing charm lingers forever after with one who has owned the Star stone, though the gem itself may have passed into other hands.
Below you will find the word talismanic birthstone used instead.

These are different than birth stones. They are said to vibrate strongest to your planet or sign, NOT to the month that you were born. So if you have ever used a Talisman the talismanic birthstone would be the one to vibrate strongest  for you.

I used to wear a beaded necklace that had Tiger Eye and I have always been fond of Emeralds. Wonder if this was a sign?

I have always worn Lapis so I thought that it was neat that it was my star stone. I use it a lot because it has always worked for me and now I know why.

I was wondering if you would mind sharing an experience which you feel the Lapis has made a difference. Just to make this clear, I am definitely not saying it doesn't, I just actually want to know

I have worn Amethyst in the the past and used it as I would meditate. It is supposed to be a stone of the mind and a stone of spirituality. Lapis is also used to contact guardian spirits. Lapis also helps build self-confidence, and is a stone traditionally for royalty. Lapis bring spiritual love and is also known for enhancing love and fidelity within marriage. Lapis is also said to help one overcome shyness. It is associated with the throat and brow chakras and can help one say just the right thing, as if by magic. Lapis is also a stone that protects from both physical and psychic attacks. I often find wearing different gems or stone does help alot.  I tend to wear different stones all the time.  I usually wear a Jude it helps me feel relaxed and not so stressed.  I also use my star stone which is Amethyst.  I also find it helps clear my mind.  I say everyone should try different stones and see what happens, like a little test.  Believe me when I say, it does help.
