Pyrokinesis, Terrakinesis, Telekinesis, Aerokinesis, etc.

What makes people so drawn to these specific abilties? Is it because they are rare, or that one has to unlock their own brain before they can learn them. Anyone have ideas?

I think more or less its just curiousity more than anything. Unless a person has some of these traits. I must admit though, unless I see someone with these traits, gifts,  whatever you want to call them, or experience something like that, especially with these that you have mentioned, I'm a little skeptical. I know the first two, Pyrokinesis and Terrakinesis are both traits of characters out of comics or movies, cause I googled the information before I answered. But most times when someone claims these traits, I'm usually pretty skeptical.

I agree. These are interesting subjects. But the only one I personally know of actually being documented is psychokinesis. And this is in poltergeist cases.

It does sound neat though, being able to alter the physical world with the mind. It says on the "How Stuff Works" website, that telekinesis is closely related to PSI and not technically part of ESP.

I know as children we are more open minded to things, not saying as adults we aren't.

Anyway if anyone wants to read here is the link
