I have a photo of something I would like your opinions on. Any ideas what this might be?
A couple of us have had personal experiences with this.

It appears as a black "spot" for lack of a better word. It it in front of the wall, not on it. It stays for a several seconds, then moves back to the wall and appears to slide down the wall then disappears.
When you change position you can see that it is in front of the wall and not on it.

There is no shadow on the wall, no stain or anything like that and there is nothing close by that would cast a shadow  of this kind on the wall.

There seem to be no noticeable temperature changes or battery drain at the times of it's appearance.

The cat in th picture will look at it and follow it and sometimes tries to bat at it with it's paw. The cat shows no fear.

Those of us who have seen it never have a negative feeling accompanying it's appearance except for being slightly startled when we catch in in our peripheral vision. When we turn to look it stays for a bit with us seeing it full on.

The photo was taken with a digital camera by a good friend of mine.

I tried to get my friend to try seeing if she got any EVPs and she refuses to try. She is afraid she might hear a voice and says she couldn't handle that.

They moved into the apartment some time ago but this only began showing up about a month and a half ago.

Any Ideas?

The apartment is in a house that was a known drug house in the past. We have no knowledge of anyone begin killed there, but I am sure that it's possible. It is also possible that it was violence of another sort or an accidental death.
I am sure there must have been some strong emotions too.

I agree with you about the cat's reaction. He seems quite comfortable with it and even wants to play with it.

I have always heard of orbs but I was always told they were light in color and glowed.

Actually the picture is of my friend's apartment. I may not have been clear. Sorry about that.

We always see it it the same room and at the same wall.

It does not seem to have a pattern as to time of day, but we have not keep actual records of the times. That is something we should probably do.

The OD theory had occurred to me but I do want people's opinions.

Has anyone else seen this type?
I've seen shadow people before, but never this type of thing.
