My roommate is a psi vamp.  One thing that has always been a problem for him is that his temperature is on average is a good two degrees warmer than the normal average.

He did have several limits placed on himself so that he wouldn't feed accidently from anyone in the house and so that his temperature would stay normal.

Here this past weekend something happened to me that made him decide to remove these blocks.   His temperature is going up as a result.

Any suggestions on what he can do in order to drop it back down?

Well first of all, I'm gonna explain my post, before I even respond. 9 times out of 10. People jump to vampirism instead of looking for an answer elsewhere. In this situation, the answer is simple, in my opinion. The temperature of the human body fluctuates between 1 to 2 degrees. It's normal. If his temperature fluctuates more then that, he should go to the doctor and be checked, remember, it's also flu season  Wink. His metabolism could be up as well. Depending on his diet and exercise.

This sounds more like a medical issue then it does vampirism to me.

If his temperature is rising more then what is normal and continues to rise, I think your friend should go have a full medical exam and see if there's other issues. But like I said, we're in the middle of flu season and it could be thats it's an early onslaught of him having the flu or something.

Here's some information:

EDIT: Another thing I just thought of, make sure he's drinking plenty of liquids, preferably, water and stay away from caffeine during these times. I've heard of psy vampires claiming their temperature will go up within normal limits, after 'feeding' but to my knowledge, it's not a lasting effect and isn't troublesome. But still if your friend is concerned, he needs to go to the doctor, to see if there isn't medical explaination for temperture rising.

The temperature fluctuation is one I haven't heard of before.

* First a disclaimer... I agree with our fearless leader. See a doctor first! A fever or any significant change in body temp is nothing to play with!

On a side note:

I honestly thought it was just something that was wrong with me Wink My usual temp is 96.7 ish. After feeding it will go up to right around 99-100. Which to me feels like a fever. I have also noticed that it does not go up after sang feeding. Only psi. I still haven't figured out why this is. Anybody?

My friend Gina has a regular temp. that runs two degrees below normal standards, it has always been like this since she can remember. She is not a vampire, just a very spiritual person and it came out to be, that her lower body temp. is one of those natural body oddities.

Temperature taking is not as easy as people think. It's not just putting a thermometer in someones ear, mouth or across the forehead. There is a correct method for evey device being used. The average temperature can range from 97* to 99.8 and be normal. It all depends the location it is being taken from. Sweat, heating devices, hats, being in the sun, comming in from the cold, warm beverages and so much more can make a spike in temp.
I have never heard of a temperature in a vampire being above normal. I have to agree if the temperature remains above 99.8 this person should see a doctor. Something else is going on that's causing this fever. In the medical field this is known as Fever of Unknown Origin and really needs to be figured out.

Thanks guys.

Though he just told me earlier that his temperature has always fluctuated like that since he was little.

He agrees that it might be a good idea to find what's going, if anything.

My temp always runs a bit below normal but it does not seem to fluctuate with feeding.

I'm not a Vamp. but when I play with energy or take in energy of any kind, I notice that my body tempature gets warmer. I think it's got something to do with your energy and what you're doing with it. It's like when you go for a run, your blood gets pumping because you're moving. I believe it's the same thing.
