Looks like they want to redo Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th.
What does everyone else think about this idea? Good or bad? Or are we just
running out of ideas for movies?

There seems to be an entire mindset nowadays in Hollywood for the "Remake". I remember this starting sometime in the 90's, but I might be wrong. I think eventually this will burn out, but it will depend on some Filmmakers and Screenwriters actually creating something new and exciting that offsets what has come before. I have seen recently some new films come down the pike that give some indication that someone is thinking. Of course this all depends on how many people keep paying to see Halloween 1, 1A. 1B, 1C and the all exciting fourth remake of the original first Halloween film that might lead to another remake. No, I didn't like the remake at all, but thats just a personal opinion.

Yes, as I think of it more,..I think many minds do seem to be stuck in first gear in many ways. Perhaps we're all stuck in some repetitive time-loop?

Same here, that's why I love Hammer Horror. The back drops and sets on the movies with old Gothic architecture, that's one of the reasons why I watch Hammer Horror movies. I'm not saying I don't love the movies, I do. But that atmosphere just adds so much to the movie.

As far as remakes go, Hmm..I've seen my fair share of remakes that were horrible and I've seen remakes that actually I really like. I thought The Omen remake wasn't bad at all and surprised me at how close they stayed to the original. The original Omen movie, being one of my all time faves.  I am always hesitant to go spend money on a ticket to see a remake in the theater. But when it comes to them remaking Nightmare on Elm Street. I'm dead set against it! That was my generations, Halloween, the big horror movie at that time. The horror movies they make now, in my opinion, are just so they can add extra gallons of stage blood to a scene. The horror movies now, just don't cut it.

I've never really been a big movie goer to begin with, and the remakes put me to sleep before the movie has even come out.
