Times up.  Some have thought that it is a combination of the french Oui, and German Ja, both meaning Yes.  However the original creator believed it meant good luck in Egyptian.  Was he ever wrong with that one.

First of all, I'm surprised that the people mentioned in the first post even got near one.

There are Elders in my area that won't go near or touch these things.   Frankly, burying isn't enough.

And fire is the strongest purifying agent there is...especially when it's been amplified properly.

Burying it or submerging it in deep water removes the object of attachment from the people. Burning a ouija board will destroy it thus releasing the entity from the attachment. While yes you may purify the board from the entity, it is now released to fully attach to a person. I think it best to leave the entity attached to the board and the board removed from people altogether.

Ya Bobby's right, total destruction on any article that has an entity attached to it, will release that entity.  Once it's released it can attach itself to the closest person, which as Bobby put it, will most likely be the person destroying the item.  This goes with anything, not just Ouija boards.
