While I was doing my research for my Demonology paper, it was mentioned in several different articles that the Ouija board is the prime portal for demonics to enter into this realm.  Once they beguile the user into feeling secure they attach themselves to the person.

I've heard that comparison too that Ouija Boards are portals.
I had a friend who had one and wanted to use it  one night. We were both high school. I for some reason got nervous and got the giggles and couldn't stop laughing, she got mad at me and just put it away.

One or two articles I could have dismissed, but there were multiple accounts from very reputable sources and in multiple religions.  Too many to discount.  I didn't include it only due to the fact that ouija boards are still controversial in some circles as being valid divination tools.

In my experience they can act as portals. When they do act as a door one never knows what might come through.

I will not touch one after some of the experiences I had with them.

The thing with the ouija boards is that they are a tool with a specific purpose, to contact entities. People buy them thinking it is a game and have no idea the risk the put themselves in. It's not like going to a purportedly haunted location. These boards are used in the home. And people are just trying to contact anyone or anything that will communicate. This is opening a door to let anything in. The people using the board have no idea who or what will come through. Or how to deal with it once it has entered the home. These always seem to be negative entities. And they almost always attach to the board and to one of the people present. Burning the board will just release the entity to fully attach to a person. Now here is the kicker. Sitting around your house trying to do EVP work can have the same affect. You are reaching out to contact whatever may be there. Instead of a ouija board your tool is a digital recorder.

Fortunately the number of people who have nothing happen using a ouija board far out number the amount of people who do contact something. I believe it takes the right people with the right intent to make contact with something using a ouija board.

I think the prime problem with these boards is that they are available at any local toy store, or store that sells board games and are available to the average smuck.

Yes I have seen them at K-mart, Wal-mart, Toys'R'Us, Etc.
