I just can't believe I've never picked up the trilogy on DVD. I guess part of that is because there for awhile, it seemed they played these movies on TV all the time.

You know, I feel the same way and in fact now that you mention it, I eventually can see myself picking up the lot. Once they have been re-mastered and Blu-Rayed or whatever. I decided That I'm making no further purchases of video until this entire BluRay DVD thing really gets all resolved and I can decide what the heck direction I have to move in is.

Peace>

Just as an fyi, Blu Ray is the clear cut winner in the format battle. Toshiba officially announced they are stopping HD DVD. And Toshiba is the main company of HD DVD. With them out HD DVD is done and Blu Ray is now the only HD disc format.

Thanks Bobby that totally slipped my mind. Yes Blue-ray is the clear winner now, mainly because of Wal-mart. They are the dominating force in DVD sales, and when they announced they were going to sell only Blue-ray, Toshiba saw the end coming and quit. Toshiba will still honor warranties on their HD-DVD players that people have bought.

Actually the downfall of HD DVD started when Sony threw enough money at Warner for them to go Blu Ray only when their HD DVD contract ran out in May. After that announcement Wally World made the decision to  follow suit and go Blu Ray only in the same time frame.
