Synopsis: Curse of Frankenstein was the "breakthrough" picture for the fabled Hammer Studios. Told in flashback, the story centers around Baron Victor Frankenstein (Peter Cushing), a dangerously arrogant scientist who takes it upon himself to play God. Using portions of dead bodies, Victor fashions a synthetic monster (Christopher Lee) with a bad attitude. In a radical departure from the Frankenstein canon, it is the imperious Victor who orchestrates the film's two murders by "borrowing" the brain of a learned professor, then leaving his next victim at the mercy of the monster. In 1958, the film spwaned the sequel Revenge of Frankenstein. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide Cast: Peter Cushing - Baron Victor Frankenstein Hazel Court - Elizabeth Valerie Gaunt - Justine Noel Hood - Aunt Sophia Sally Walsh - Elizabeth (as child) Fred Johnson - Grandfather Henry Caine - Schoolmaster Patrick Troughton - Kurt Hugh Dempster - Burgomaster Raymond Rollett - Father Felix Ernest Jay - Undertaker Eugene Leahy - Second Priest Andrew Leigh - Burgomaster (Hermann) Christopher Lee - The Creature Robert Urquhart - Paul Krempe Melvyn Hayes - Young Victor Marjorie Hume - Mother Paul Hardtmuth - Prof. Bernstein Claude Kingston - Little Boy Michael Mulcaster - Warder Joseph Behrman - Fritz Anne Blake - Burgomaster's Wife Alex Gallier - Priest Bartlett Mullins - Tramp Middleton Woods - LecturerTrailer:
